Even in the sovereign territory of Armenia, as long as Russia remains as the main “instigator”
The fact that the current authorities of Armenia did not learn lessons after the 44-day war and we did not make progress in terms of preparing, reorganizing and restoring the army is an undeniable reality. Under those conditions, a country ready for hostile actions towards Armenia cannot but seek to tear away more than it dreamed of.
This is the reality. Aliyev’s appetite has increased when he sees the attitude of the Armenian authorities to be ready for peace at any price and under any conditions. When Azerbaijani units invade the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia, but the government of the Republic of Armenia talks for months about peace, demarcation, and delimitation, and these are only words, in practice the opposing state shows that it will get what it wants by force, but the Armed Forces of your country do not solve the issue of defense of the sovereign territory of Armenia. Therefore, what else should have held Aliyev back… Another important question is why Aliyev feels unpunished. On this issue, the atmosphere in Armenia is the same as during the 44-day war, in the conditions of ensuring the theses of the Russian government propaganda machine.
During the 44-day war, Russia’s neutral stance was justified by saying, “Moscow cannot openly protect the Armenian side, because Nagorno-Karabakh is a “disputed territory””, that is, they made it clear that Putin cannot act against Aliyev with the “Karabakh is Azerbaijan” position. We saw that and we continue to see that. What happened after signing the tripartite document of November 9? Aliyev announced that there is no Nagorno-Karabakh problem, it has been solved, Russia received the right to deploy a peacekeeping mission in Nagorno-Karabakh, and with Moscow’s “mediation” the conflict was moved to the Armenia-Azerbaijan field. Moscow has shown for 2 years that it will not condemn any action by Azerbaijan against the sovereign territory of Armenia, and will continue to demonstrate its neutral position, despite the fact that Armenia is a strategic ally of Russia.

Moreover, during this period, Moscow and Baku took active steps towards the conclusion of a strategic alliance, about which the servants of the Russian propaganda machine in Armenia are stubbornly silent. Now, all those who said during the 44-day war that Russia’s hands are “tied,” Nagorno-Karabakh is not recognized, the Russians cannot openly protect the Armenian side, are repeating one thing they memorized today: Azerbaijan and Turkey took advantage of the weak state of Russia, created as a result of the war in Ukraine, and they attacked the sovereign territory of Armenia. And does that justify the silence of Putin, his government and the entire Russian expert community…
And why doesn’t Turkey take advantage of the same “weak” situation of Russia, moreover, how is it that the same “weak” Russia strikes back at the pro-Turkish forces in Syria… Will the tireless fighters of the Russian propaganda machine answer this question? Therefore, Putin’s game in our region is different: not to oppose Turkish-Azerbaijani open aspirations and to have a new opportunity to negotiate with the West, to enter into “trade” at the basis of the complication of the situation in the new hot spot. By the way, the USA has already hinted at such a possibility… What are we seeing these days?
The aggression towards the sovereign territory of Armenia is clearly recorded by the West, they definitely demand immediate cessation of military operations. The United States has seen significant facts that Azerbaijan is shelling the territory of Armenia and causing significant damage to the country’s infrastructure, the spokesperson of the US State Department stated in the briefing.
Thus, Washington unequivocally emphasizes that the USA has substantial evidence that Azerbaijan is shelling the territory of Armenia. And don’t the Kremlin, the CSTO and the CIS have such evidence… The CSTO convenes a summit at the request of Armenia, and what do we hear: “It is difficult to talk about encroachment on the border, because it is not demarcated.”
And are there people in Armenia who still hope in Russia and its protected structures…
And by the way, what explanation do those telling myths about the power of the Russian military base in Armenia have for decades: “If a bird passes over Turkey, Russian fighter jets will take off…”
At this moment, there are important grounds for Armenia to take clear actions against Azerbaijan on the diplomatic front. Several statements made by US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken were important. Such statements are constantly received from the West, but why are Russian MPs, experts, and giants of the Russian propaganda machine and “thinkers” living in Russia with “Armenian” surnames and their Armenian propagandists silent?
Or, the Turkish-Azerbaijani tandem hits “weak Russia” in the South Caucasus, but as a result, the West records Azerbaijani aggression against the sovereign territory of Armenia, while according to the logic of Russian propagandists, Armenia, an ally of “weak Russia,” should not be supported, but the actions of NATO’s Turkey’s ally, Azerbaijan, should have been justified. It is clearly noticeable, isn’t it, that something is wrong in this whole propaganda frenzy, that the people in charge of the Russian propaganda machine have gone beyond logic and on the way to “saving” the image of their own country, they are further degrading the status of that country in front of the eyes of the whole world.
It would not be more honest if we record that Putin has once again given the green light for Turkish-Azerbaijani aggression, already on the territory of Armenia, and behind his neutrality is the unequivocal support for Baku’s actions on the basis of this principle: “whatever you capture is yours, as long as Russia remains the main mediator and the main regional player.”
