A resident of Kechut: “Well, it’s my homeland, where should I go?”

Seven houses were damaged by Azerbaijan’s attack in the Kechut settlement of Vayots Dzor. Narine Gevorgyan, a resident of one of the homes, remembers that she learned about the news from her neighbors. “To tell the truth, we were close, we left, and we came. It is not that we have remained here permanently.

We were told that they hit our home. We came and saw that it was not hit. Fragments fell on the house and glass broke as a result. Yes, we left, yes, we came again, and since our child is also under contract here, so as if we were restless, we kept coming and going.”

She remembered that her contract soldier son immediately got dressed and went to the military unit. “The little one is a small child, 7 years old, he doesn’t know anything. He was asleep, we woke him up, dressed him, and left.”

And her husband, Ishkhan Asatryan, says that two windows of the house were damaged. “I took them all out on the same night. I removed the shells that fell in Jermuk, because they panicked, they were going out, we also went out. They hit this one too, let’s see what happens, otherwise there is a window.”

When asked if she is going to stay in Kechut, she answered: “It’s my homeland, where should I go? My son is serving, the other one is working here, I was born and raised here… I will never leave my homeland in my life.”
