Armenia officially announced at the government meeting, through the mouth of the Prime Minister, that our “allies” received huge sums of money from our country in exchange for weapons to be supplied, but did not fulfill their business obligations and did not provide us with weapons. In yesterday’s “interview,” Pashinyan avoided detailing what ally he was talking about. Perhaps it can be assumed that, according to him, we have other allies besides Russia.
However, regardless of these small tricks, two things are clear: first, you need to get the money back from that mysterious ally, and second, look for alternative ways to buy weapons. I hope the news of buying modern ammunition from India is not a propaganda bluff aimed at our domestic audience.
Taking more drastic steps, including making announcements about withdrawing from the CSTO, in my opinion, is dangerous in this situation. No matter how weak Russia is, that country, apart from military and economic levers, has the most powerful one: Russia can lead Azerbaijan to new provocations, which means new human and possibly territorial losses for us. France and the United States will certainly make statements supporting us on that occasion, but they will have purely moral significance. By the way, Zakharova’s comment about how bad the consequences of sending international observers to Armenia will be, contains exactly that hidden threat.
…Putin, challenging the whole world, actually declared the four regions of the neighboring country to be part of Russia. It is a step that, to put it simply, has put our planet in danger of global war. In this chaotic situation, it is very possible that Turkey and Azerbaijan will try to take advantage of the opportunity and realize their old dream of destroying Armenian statehood. More vigilance is required from the political forces and government of Armenia.
