On October 26, the EU Ambassador to Armenia, Andrea Wiktorin visited Gyumri. The Ambassador met with the Governor of Shirak Region, Nazeli Baghdasaryan, to discuss EU support in the region. Regional development and cooperation are among the priorities of CEPA, and the EU will continue to implement diverse and interesting programmes together with its counterparts in the region and to the benefit of its people. In addition, EU Ambassador highlighted the importance of having female leaders in positions of influence that can serve as role models for women’s empowerment. The Ambassador also met with the families of POWs, expressing her full understanding of their situation and feelings.
On October 26, within the scope of her visit to Gyumri, the EU Ambassador to Armenia, Andrea Wiktorin, met the Mayor of Gyumri, Vardges Samsonyan, to discuss the EU support for the City. Among other topics, the Ambassador addressed the vision of Gyumri for tourism and local economic development under the M4EG regional facility as well as other ongoing action such as Gyumri street lightning and support to the SMEs.
