On October 25, in Erbil the RA NA deputy Rustam Bakoyan accompanied by the Consul General of the Republic of Armenia Arshak Manukyan had a meeting with the Speaker of the Iraqi Kurdistan Parliament Rewaz Faeq.
Rustam Bakoyan presented to the interlocutor the main purpose of his visit, touched upon the provision of the humanitarian aid to the needy Armenian families and the Yazidi refugees of Sheikhan Camp.
At the meeting a reference was made to the perspectives of the inter-parliamentary cooperation. Taking into consideration the term of the authorities of the parliament was extended for one year, the NA deputy proposed Rewaz Faeq to observe the possibilities of visiting Armenia with parliamentary delegation. He added that the Armenian side will convey the official invitation, and its terms will be specified through diplomatic means.
During the meeting Rustam Bakoyan also raised the issue related to the recognition of the diplomas of the RA universities in the Iraqi Kurdistan. The Speaker of the Iraqi Kurdistan Parliament promised the NA deputy to be consistent in the solution of that problem within the framework of her authorities.

The sides discussed the matter of the presence of the national and religious minorities in the Iraqi Kurdistan Parliament. The RA NA deputy highlighted the provision of a separate quota in the Iraqi Kurdistan Parliament to the Yazidi people, taking into account the presence of about 500.000 Yazidis Iraqi Kurdistan. Rewaz Faeq noted that at present a series of issues regarding the presence of the national and religious minorities in the Iraqi Kurdistan Parliament are under discussion between the national and religious minorities between the political forces of the Iraqi Kurdistan.
Rustam Bakoyan presented the Azerbaijani aggression against the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Armenia in May, November of 2021, and in September 2022 and the invasion to the internationally recognized territories of the Republic of Armenia.
At the meeting issues on the role of the parliaments in the development of trade-economic cooperation were also discussed.
