Former RA Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan wrote on his Facebook page:
On a special fact-finding mission, we are paying a three-day visit to Syunik region with international lawyers Garo Ghazarian and Karnig Kerkonian, advisers of the Center for Law and Justice “Tatoyan” Foundation (“Tatoyan” Foundation).
Our objective is to observe the current situation on the ground and document all of the challenges which have arisen as a direct consequence of the illegal deployment of Azerbaijani armed forces.
At this moment, it is clear that due to the Azerbaijani military presence in the immediate proximity of our villages and civilian roads, the safety of the residents is threatened and their day to day life is disturbed.
We will be analyzing all of the collected evidence to introduce the same to international institutions.
This undertaking is crucial so as not to permit the Azerbaijani side to repeatedly mislead the international community with its false peace narrative.
To be clear, yes, peace is important and necessary, but it should not pull any of us into a false sense of security, and it ought not temper our vigilance. Peace should not be only at the expense of trampling on the safety, security and rights of the Armenian people.
