“During my visit in Russia, the most negative feedback I heard was about the years Serzh Sargsyan was in charge”- says President of Armenian National Assembly Alen Simonyan.
“We expect actual steps based on the agreements and statements Russian authorities made. We are working in that direction” said Alen Simonyan, the president of the National Assembly of Armenia, during a briefing with journalists in the Parliament.
In response to the observation that Pashinyan’s government is the one creating anti-Russian sentiments, he replied: “I communicate with my Russian colleagues and I can affirm that the current government is probably one of the most pro-Russian. They agree. Recently, the president of the Russian State Duma announced that he is very happy to have contacts with us, because the Armenian-Russian relations weren’t that close when the Republicans were in authority. There was a president of the National Assembly who was “невыездной” (non-viable), as they put it, there were people who did not even speak Russian, our relations were so much worse back then. During my visit in Russia, the most negative feedback I heard was of the time of the Republican party and Serzh Sargsyan’s 10 year rule”.
