On November 17,, the Human Rights Defender of Armenia, Ms. Kristinne Grigoryan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Armenia, H.E. Mr. Fan Yong. The Ambassador expressed gratitude for the meeting and highlighted the activities carried out by the Human Rights Defender. Further, the parties exchanged thoughts, emphasizing on both sides the importance of the exchange of experience and learning from each other.
Ms. Kristinne Grigoryan noted that it is important for the Office of the Human Rights Defender to cooperate with any partner institution of other states. The Defender mentioned that the RA Human Rights Defender’s Institution has a high reputation in society, which is a double responsibility.
The Defender presented the mandate of the Institution, as well as the activities carried out in the field of human rights protection.
Ms. Grigoryan also referred to the activities of the four regional subdivisions of the Defender’s Office, as well as highlighted the connection of the Institution with the residents living in the provinces.

In his turn, the Ambassador presented how the issues of human rights are guaranteed and protected at the state level in the People’s Republic of China.
At the end of the meeting, the parties discussed the possibilities of further cooperation.
