ARMENPRESS. The works to amend the draft decision regarding the joint measures to provide help to Armenia by the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) are being held with the active engagement of Russia, Russian Ambassador to Armenia Sergei Kopyrkin told reporters, commenting on the results of the recent CSTO summit in Yerevan.
Overall, the Ambassador assessed the results of the summit positive.
“Overall, the impression was positive. At this moment I am not ready to give any comment, but on the next day during the government session Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan gave a positive assessment to the works done during the CSTO Collective Security Council session.
I also want to note that Russian President Vladimir Putin assessed Armenia’s presidency at the CSTO this year as very positive. I think I have nothing to add to this”, he said.

Asked whether Russia will take steps to accelerate the amendment of the draft to provide help to Armenia, the Ambassador said: “That work is underway and is being carried out by Russia’s active engagement”.
In response to the question whether both the Russian and Armenian sides take sufficient steps to overcome the external challenges and keep the Armenian-Russian relations on the same high level, the diplomat stated: “I think a lot is being done not only to keep the Armenian-Russian relations, but also to strengthen and adapt them to the new reality and the new world. Believe me, it’s very difficult and requires great patience, persistence and will from both sides. I think all these features are being displayed. Of course, there is a problem, and it couldn’t not have been, but, overall, I think that the works to preserve, strengthen and develop the bilateral relations are being done at a proper level”.
