“On December 7, President of the Artsakh Republic Arayik Harutyunyan who is on a working visit to France, gave a press conference attended by around two dozen leading news agencies of France.
The Head of the State presented the purpose of his visit to France, mentioned the periodic and frequent manifistations of aggressive behaviour towards the people of Artsakh shown by Azerbaijan, creation of humanitarian problems on a consistent basis, specified those threats that endanger the existence of Artsakh people on their native soil. According to President Harutyunyan, through France he wanted to send a message to all the European states to take measures to prevent the above-mentioned reckless behavior of Azerbaijan, indubitably supported by Turkey.
“We realize that Europe has oil and gas interests with Azerbaijan, but our request is to respect the rights of our people to self-determination and existence and to prevent the implementation of the genocidal and expansionist policy of Azerbaijan with the existing instruments. In this respect, it is also appropriate to mention the attacks during the last two years not only against Artsakh, but also against the Republic of Armenia, as well as occupations of the sovereign territories of the Republic of Armenia”, Arayik Harutyunyan noted.
