PARIS-For the second time in less than a week, the Aliyev regime has sent its thugs, disguised as civilians, to block the Latchine corridor, the only road linking the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic to Armenia and the rest of the world. This provocation has the consequence of suffocating the Armenian enclave surrounded by the Azeri army. It aims to create a humanitarian disaster by preventing its supply in all areas, including food.
The Coordinating Council of Armenian Organizations in France (CCAF) denounces this new aggression of the Azerbaijani petrodictatorship against the Armenian civilian population.
It urges the Russian interpositions forces to respect the terms of their mission specified in the ceasefire agreement of November 9, 2020, by militarily guaranteeing the movement of citizens, vehicles and goods in both directions along the Latchine corridor.
The CCAF also calls on France, co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, to do everything possible, including at the level of international bodies, to obtain the immediate lifting of this illegal blockade, which constitutes a new step in the escalation of Azerbaijan’s racist, hateful and lethal violence against the Armenian people.
