“The best solution would be to ensure Azerbaijanis don’t approach those areas anymore.” Arman Tatoyan

December 16,2022 15:00

Arman Tatoyan, director of the Law and Justice Center “Tatoyan” Foundation and former RA human rights defender, is clear. “No one has the right to consider this an isolated step directed only against Artsakh.”

“It is against RA, Armenianness because the same actions took place against RA, road closures, control over hydroelectric plants and tailings. They are the same violations. “We have no right to consider the issue in isolation,” said Tatoyan in a conversation with journalists in front of the UN office in Yerevan in connection with the closing of the Berdzor corridor by Azerbaijan.

Commenting on the calls of Azerbaijanis to live together with pigeons at the scene of the incident, Arman Tatoyan emphasized that Azerbaijan continues the policy of hatred towards Armenians. Armenian is a murderer and has hatred, but nobody punished him for his activities after the war. “A 30-40-year-old Azerbaijani has grown up in the spirit of Armenian hatred. Even in their fairy tales, the Armenian is always a negative character who kills them. Now the government of Azerbaijan encourages anyone who will kill or harm an Armenian. Politicians of their culture encourage the killing of Armenians. Here’s the nail. Under such conditions, coexistence with them is impossible. They destroy and annihilate.” Arman Tatoyan answered the question, who ultimately has the mandate to get the Azerbaijanis out of there? “It is necessary to take all measures. That is why we are planning specific demonstrations for the permanent member countries of the UN Security Council to say that there is an ontological question of people’s lives.

He answered the question of removing the Azerbaijanis from there in addition to the force option: “The best solution would be to make sure that they don’t approach those areas anymore. Otherwise, they can constantly try to terrorize. We have to use every possible means; there is no other option. That part is a so-called corridor, in some parts of which there are no soldiers; that’s why they came. I am sure that they came by state buses, paid for, and organized. We have such data. We need long-term security guarantees.”
