“You don’t need any secret tube to understand that Azerbaijan closed the Lachin Corridor under the guise of so-called “environmentalists” to carry out ethnic cleansing in Artsakh. The main goal is this,” Security Council Secretary Armen Grigoryan announced in the parliament on December 20, answering the question of Agnesa Khamoyan, deputy of the “Hayastan” faction.
“During the previous extraordinary session, you announced that you will hand over the new, edited version of the so-called peace treaty to Azerbaijan soon. As there is that experience to exchange documents with Azerbaijan through internal channels and not only internal channels, what exactly does Azerbaijan require or offer to open the way? The Artsakh road has been closed for the 9th day already; what are those requirements?” asked the deputy.
Armen Grigoryan assured that Armenia is working with all partners to open the corridor quickly, the people of Artsakh avoid a humanitarian crisis, and the situation is resolved.

Armen Grigoryan’s report on ethnic cleansing in Artsakh by Azerbaijan surprised Agnesa Khamoyan. He reminded that some time ago, the ruling power refused to accept the draft statement submitted by the opposition factions on ethnic cleansing, arguing that they did not want to provoke Azerbaijan so as not to give it a legitimate basis for actions.
Agnesa Khamoyan also noticed that although the RA government refused to be the guarantor of Artsakh’s security, the government plan says so, and there is no official document about the refusal, so she wondered, as the guarantor of Artsakh’s safety, what did the RA government do? What is The government doing, what does it propose to open the way, and, in general, how does the RA government demonstrate that it is the guarantor of Artsakh’s security?
Armen Grigoryan countered, noting that the statements about the refusal of Artsakh’s security guarantor are merely the MP’s assessments. The government has undertaken such a commitment and continues to fulfill its obligations. They are many, although he did not point out any specific steps. Instead, he said: “I want to remind you that according to the statement of November 9, Russia is also the guarantor of the security of the Lachin Corridor, and I want to call on the opposition to work in that direction as well, so that the Russian Federation fulfills its obligations to ensure safety in the Lachin Corridor seamless traffic.” He added that our government is working with the Russian Federation to open the corridor as soon as possible and uses all the tools at its disposal.
National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan also reminded Agnesa Khamoyan that the parliament adopted a statement, which the “Armenia” faction did not join, which talks about the genocide and other issues mentioned by the deputy.
