On December 21, at the extraordinary session of the RA NA Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs debated the issue on nominating the candidacy Gagik Barseghyan presented by the Civil Contract Faction for the vacancy of the Member of the Audit Chamber and the candidate for that position to the National Assembly.
The Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs Gevorg Papoyan presented the candidate’s biographical data and touched upon his professional qualities. According to the Committee Chair, in Gagik Barseghyan’s nomination his work experience and knowledge played great role.
Since 2016, the candidate holds the position of the Coordinator-Expert of the NA Budget Office. It was noted that during the years he held the position the NA Budget Office had purposeful activity.
Gagik Barseghyan thanked the Civil Contract Faction for nominating his candidacy. He considered important the role of the Audit Chamber in the chain of accountability of the state.

The candidate stressed the necessity of continuous cooperation between the legislative power and the Audit Chamber.
As a result of debate, the Committee members endorsed Gagik Barseghyan’s candidacy for the vacancy of the Member of the Audit Chamber.
Let us note that by the authors’ proposal the debate of the draft on Funds with Inviolable Capital and the enclosed drafts authored the NA deputies Sisak Gabrielyan and Gevorg Papoyan was postponed up to two months.
