“We will continue to deal with the problem in Lachin by all possible means, and we will not limit ourselves to this. The Lachin Corridor must be opened. Otherwise, it will cause a humanitarian disaster,” NA Speaker Alen Simonyan said in a conversation with journalists at the National Assembly, referring to the discussion of the UN Security Council Session on the blockade of Artsakh and the blocking of the Lachin Corridor.
He said that they expect from the Session of the UN Security Council that it will have its effect “on the ground.” “I have the impression that Azerbaijan, as a result of its actions, has reached a dead end today because it did not expect such a reaction. We will continue to work in that direction with all possible means, which will reach RA and which will not involve RA in another process.”
Alen Simonyan said that after November 9, the danger of war has not decreased and we must constantly wait for possible provocations. To the question: How do you evaluate the speech of the Russian representative at the UN Security Council Session, considering that they are our strategic allies? He made a sign of equality and called on the parties to exercise restraint; what is the Armenian side doing that should be restrained?
Alen Simonyan answered. . “I rate the speech negatively because I think the ally could have addressed it much more. The countries that generally do not have close ties with Armenia did so. I think Russia can’t, or doesn’t want to, or can’t, and doesn’t want to at the same time. In any case, I am not surprised, the recent events showed that it is possible to give such a response and assessment. Perhaps it is because it is the area of responsibility of the Russian peacekeepers; that is, they want to reduce the situation so that they do not take too much responsibility for themselves.”
