Gurgen Arsenyan, deputy of the “Civil Contract” faction, urges not to create a “panic” regarding the blockade of Artsakh. We conveyed the opinion of the opposition MPs that if this situation continues for another week, the people of Artsakh will find themselves in an extreme case, Arsenyan responded.
“The people of Armenia were in that extreme situation for three years, and nothing happened to them; we were in that situation for three years: we didn’t have electricity, we didn’t have gas, we didn’t have hot water, nothing special happened, we became more hardened. The bran came out, the absolute values, and the actual values remained.
And do you know what the panic is? I will repeat my thesis: the problem of Artsakh will never again be a question of deciding the government in Armenia. It won’t happen. Elections will determine the government in Armenia, and the people will form the government; there cannot be any other excuse and will not be the reason for the formation of the government in Armenia. It won’t happen. We’re over it. It will not work to bring the same scheme to the people of Armenia for the second, third, or fourth time. We have already been “mad” once; we know how and why it is done.”
We checked whether the Artsakh issue is still the cause of the government’s problem, and Arsenyan answered, “the only one. Don’t you hear what they are saying?”

Regarding observation, you are also accused of distracting the public from the real problems with your agendas;
Arsenyan teased that, in the National Assembly, for example, with his congratulations to Argentina, the public is distracted and falls into a mental disorder.
“Our important and main task is to get out of the framework of false reality. Return to everyday life, appreciate ourselves, understand our possibilities, our values, throw aside false values, offer society and the young generation what can make their lives effective and happy.”
We asked if the authorities are doing something for Artsakh now, serious, practical steps, or are we saying that it is not our problem, Arsenyan answered. “For Artsakh, the RA government is doing everything we consider possible. We don’t try to do anything impossible; it is done with the tools available. You have to be realistic because if the government is not honest, it is a group of adventurers who lead their people into trouble.
We are not and never will be a collective of adventurers. Two essential things in our activities guide us, the first is not to harm, and the second is to do what you can and say little about it. I have no desire to criticize the opposition because they have dragged themselves into a field where only they can talk about it. They couldn’t say anything else; they went into the “elephant’s grave” themselves. If there were an effective opposition, no stone would be left unturned in our day-to-day activities.
They don’t do anything, and we are very thankful for that because it helps us to make the laws on which we have already made decisions very quickly into an active rule in the parliament. Thanks to that, they get rewarded for it. If they don’t work, there should be a justification for receiving the reward. It can be a reward for increasing the efficiency of the parliament.”
