I started the year with the letters addressed to all my international colleagues.
I stated that the Government of the Republic of Artsakh, meeting the demand of the Azerbaijani “eco-activists”, announced that it would temporarily stop the operation of the mine until an international examination would be carried out, but even after that the road was not opened, which provides essential grounds to stress that the blocking of the road is politically reasoned.
In the condition of the absense of practical steps by competent international structures, Azerbaijan continues with gross violations of international humanitarian law, ethnic cleansing of Armenians and genocidal policies.
Highlighting the strict urgency of the existing problems, I requested my international colleagues:

to take effective steps in order to unblock the only road connecting Artsakh to Armenia and the whole world.
I emphasized that their assessment of the situation and effective steps in connection with the above mentioned might contribute to the saving of 120,000 lives.
There are some replies, while others have not responded yet. But I will continue to promptly inform the international community about the current situation in the region, where human rights are directly violated.
