During the plenary session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) on January 23, Tiny Kox was re-elected as the PACE president. There were two candidates for the PACE president. Acting President Tiny Kox (Netherlands) and Alexander Merezko from the Ukrainian delegation. 223 people participated in the voting, and four ballots were declared invalid.
With 175 votes, the current PACE president, Tiny Kox, was re-elected as PACE president. In his speech, he assured that the war against Ukraine would remain on the PACE agenda. He suggested a minute of silence to honor the memory of the victims of the war in Ukraine. He announced that the issue would remain on the agenda until we reach peace. However, Tiny Kox did not mention the war in Nagorno-Karabakh and Armenia.
