In The Hague International Court of Justice (ICJ) of the United Nations, the Armenian side presented its application for the application of an interim measure in the case of Armenia vs. Azerbaijan. The President of the International Court of Justice of the United Nations announced that priority was given to the issue of the use of interim measures.
The Court’s President said that by the letter of January 26, 2023, the Representative of RA submitted an additional claim regarding interim measures related to the provision of natural gas and other utility services to Nagorno-Karabakh.
He stated that Azerbaijan claimed that RA needed more justification for waiting one working day before the hearing and that Azerbaijan could not respond to the new request during the oral hearing. The President of the Court said: “Taking into account the short deadlines of RA’s application to submit a new interim measure until the hearing date, the court decided that Azerbaijan can submit a preliminary response and that it will have the right to submit its written observations regarding the new interim measure no later than February 1 at 15:00″.
