Center for Truth and Justice Transfers War Crime Evidence to European Third Party
February 6, 2023 – (Los Angeles) – The Center for Truth and Justice (CFTJ) continues to document human rights violations and war crimes against the Armenians since the 2020 war in Nagorno-Karabakh by the governments of Turkey and Azerbaijan in the Republic of Armenia and in Nagorno-Karabakh. CFTJ set up a fact-finding infrastructure in the region and has been collecting first-hand eyewitness testimonies from the victims of war crimes which provide extensive evidence of Azerbaijan’s violations of the Geneva Convention, use of Syrian, Afghan and Pakistani mercenaries during the 2020 war in Nagorno-Karabakh, as well as evidence on the most recent blockade of the Lachin Corridor by Azerbaijan, the only road connecting Nagorno-Karabakh to the rest of the world. CFTJ has gathered evidence of these war crimes and recorded witness and victim statements through forensic investigations on site and elsewhere since September 2020.
CFTJ has now provided the above-mentioned evidence and all relevant information to a European third party which is transfering the extensive files to their respective national judicial and law enforcement authorities for criminal investigation of these international crimes against the citizens of Nagorno-Karabakh and Armenia.
CFTJ is a US-based non-profit organization formed in November 2020 immediately following the 44-Day War in Artsakh. CFTJ is not affiliated with any political or governmental organization and is entirely independent. CFTJ’s team of attorneys built a fact-finding infrastructure in Armenia and Artsakh, to gather testimonial evidence from victims of war-related human rights and humanitarian abuses. CFTJ has collected more than 400 testimonies from witnesses including returned POWs, displaced individuals, and victims of prohibited methods of warfare. CFTJ’s mission is to create a living memorial to crimes against humanity, for purposes of education and legal action.
