Artsakh NA factions condemned the speech and behavior of CC deputy Gurgen Arsenyan. “Recently, in the official discourse of the Republic of Armenia, in particular, in the speeches of some deputies of the National Assembly, statements are often made that question the importance of the Artsakh national liberation struggle and the right to self-determination of the Artsakh people and create division within the nation. Gurgen Arsenyan, deputy of the “Civil Contract” faction of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, made a similar statement recently. All factions of the National Assembly of the Artsakh Republic, strongly condemning such dangerous behavior, express their conviction that such expressions not only do not come from the interests of the Armenian people but also pour water into the mill of the Turkish-Azerbaijani tandem.”
In this regard, the journalists asked the Speaker of the National Assembly, Alen Simonyan, whether he is preparing to invite an ethics commission, does he see a violation. He answered: “No, I don’t see it; I think that the perception of our colleagues in Artsakh is incorrect because Mr. Arsenyan has done so much for Artsakh not only now but also for years that I don’t even want to list. The perception is incorrect; it is not correct to talk about that topic.” He answered when asked if he didn’t say 120,000 Artsakh residents and 3 million Armenians. “By the way, do I remember correctly that Arsenyan is a member of the National Assembly of Armenia? It is the RA National Assembly, isn’t it, that approves the government’s plan, that with the same budget, utility payments, salaries, and all possible aid go to Artsakh. By the way, Arsenyan is a member of the National Assembly who does all that. Artsakh factions are making a statement; Mr. Arsenyan is the deputy of the Republic of Armenia.”
