On February 8, at the regular session of the 5th session of the 8th conference of the National Assembly of Armenia, the third petition of the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia on giving consent to initiate a public criminal prosecution against Seyran Ohanyan, deputy of the NA “Armenia” faction, former Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, was published, according to which Seyran Ohanyan, 2008 Having held the position of Minister of Defense from April to 2016, he used his official position against the interests of the service for the sake of group interests. The territories belonging to the (“Tiremaker”) “Doghagorst”(“Tiremaker”) company were transferred to a private person. In particular, Vahe Yakubyan and other criminal group members paid 5 billion 181 million 300 thousand drams less for the state’s immovable properties worth 5 billion 884 million 300 thousand drams, that is, only about 12% of the market value, and stole them fraudulently.
And Seyran Ohanyan illegally, gratuitously, and profitably transferred the particularly large immovable properties recorded in the balance sheet of the Ministry of Defense and entrusted to him in his position to another person, stealing them in a wasteful way.
The closed, secret voting results were summarized in the National Assembly of Armenia on February 8. 68 out of 107 deputies participated in the voting. Exactly 68 deputies voted in favor. There were three petitions in total. 66 MPs voted in favor of the second vote, and 68 MPs voted for the third. CC deputies took part in the voting. In one case, there is a difference of two votes because two of them still need privacy clearance. We should also remind you that during the publication of the first petition on February 7, it became clear that according to the data obtained by the National Security Service, Seyran Ohanyan committed made a colossal waste while he was the Minister of Defense, as well as due to other personal interests and group interests, he used his official position against the claims of the service.
In particular, in violation of the Land Code, the territories of two military units, “Eraskh 1” and “Eraskh 2”, which were the property of the Ministry of Defense, were expropriated and sold at a meager price. The commander of the X military unit, Grigori Khachaturov, pledged one of them to the bank and received the money. The actual ownership of the said property was distorted.
