“From this, it is assumed that if until then was a secret thought; now the Russians openly say that they understand that the entry of the EU into this region has come to replace their presence here. It can cause serious dangers,” Armen Rustamyan, deputy of the Hayastan faction, said in a conversation with journalists in the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, referring to the statements of RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan regarding the EU observation mission.
Armen Rustamyan was upset; what does it mean that we have to prove that we are not camels, and said: “What kind of diplomatic leap of thought is this? Who behaves like that in the outside world, that is, they can constantly suspect you of something, push you to take such steps?” In other words, should you be dictated by the suspicion of others, or should you solve your security problems by clearly recording your relations while understanding your diplomatic interests?”
According to Armen Rustamyan, if the EU observers come with the logic of first seeing what the Russians are doing here, whether the Russians threaten this region, this means that the conflict that exists today between the Russian Federation and the West, which arose on the topic of the Ukrainian war, to move to our region. Armen Rustamyan warns I hope you understand what the consequences of this are. On this occasion, Armen Rustamyan, referring to Nikol Pashinyan, said: “I expected him to say that they have come to fill the gap that we have in terms of security that the presence of EU observers will curb the threats from Azerbaijan and Turkey, under which we directly are. It turns out that they came to see whether Russia threatened others or not. Do they understand what comes of it, and how will they get out of it? That means bringing the West-Russia conflict to our territory. The EU has agreed to come here to find out whether Russia, which, according to them, is a threat to global security, is also the case in this region. Did they come to study it? It means to say that this conflict has also moved to our region. It should be corrected quickly; that impression cannot be left.”
