On February 10, the parliament continued the debate of the legislative package on Making Addenda to Code on RA Lithosphere and on Making Addendum to the Code on Administrative Offences in the first reading.
The member of the NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs Tsovinar Vardanyan presented the endorsement of the Committee.
The deputy of the Civil Contract Faction Armen Khachatryan delivered a speech and informed that, according to his information, about 70% of the sand in Armenia is illegally exported and is ‘in the black market.’ There is statistics that the volumes of the industrial concrete increase year by year, for example in 2021 – it increased by 66%, but the sand mining decreased, which cannot be like that.
According to the MP, here we deal with illegal sand mining. Introducing some examples of illegal sand mining, the MP addressed to the RA Anti-Corruption Committee in order to make studies and dispel the concerning doubts.
