On February 17, the President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Alen Simonyan received the Co-Rapporteurs on Armenia of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Monitoring Committee Kimmo Kiljunen and Boriana Åberg.
Welcoming the guests, the RA NA President has highlighted their visit that is aimed at getting acquainted with the situations created because of illegal blocking of the Lachin corridor. He underlined the necessity of visiting border regions and meeting with the people of Artsakh who have taken asylum.
“We highly appreciate the work and the involvement of the Assembly and you, as Co-rapporteurs. I am aware that from the very first days of Lachin Corridor blockade you made a statement,” the Speaker of Parliament, evaluating the report titled on the humanitarian consequences of the blockade of Lachin Corridor being prepared by the Committee on Migration, Refugees and Displaced Persons of the Assembly.
At the meeting details were presented on the Lachin Corridor and its consequences.
