“Azerbaijan is not negotiating for peace today but is negotiating to legalize his war booty and give it international recognition. The fear of war, which was instilled in us, has become a weapon in the hands of Azerbaijan, with which it threatens us and imposes its will. The latest evidence is the dismissal of Ruben Vardanyan.”
Former Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Vardan Oskanyan announced at the conference entitled “The Imperative of International Recognition of the Republic of Artsakh,” referring to the release of Ruben Vardanyan from the post of Minister of State of Artsakh. Vardan Oskanyan continued: “I don’t know, I’m surprised, with that, we watered down the success we had in recent days. It was assumed that with the departure of Ruben Vardanyan, Azerbaijan should keep the corridor. Still, on the same day, there was a decision of the international court, which obliged Azerbaijan to open the Lachin corridor. If the corridor is opened, will it be the court’s decision or the result of Ruben Vardanyan’s removal?” Vardan Oskanyan repeated his belief that by freeing Ruben Vardanyan, we threw the International Court’s decision into the water.
