The Hague Court’s decision to apply an interim measure regarding the Berdzor Corridor and open the corridor will be used by the Armenian side in all international courts, and NA Speaker Alen Simonyan promises that “Azerbaijanis will not be happy about it,” said the NA Speaker.

The President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, stated that he hopes 2023 will be a turning point in settlement of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. On that occasion, in response to a journalist’s question, the Speaker of the National Assembly said: “I don’t know what he means, because one day he means one thing, then it turns out that meant something else, then it turns out he was saying it for an internal audience. I consider it a thankless task to comment on what he said. We must work to advance the interests of our country, to obtain good conditions for ourselves.”

A question was also raised: who should be the international guarantor to ensure the rights of the people of Nagorno-Karabakh? “Who can implement this on the ground? If we assume that some country has a desire but cannot implement it, that agreement will not have force. Signing something formal now, then saying it doesn’t work? All agreements should have some guarantee. Now we have an agreement of November 9, with the implementation of which we are also dissatisfied; the Azerbaijani side also expresses dissatisfaction. We need to understand if a mechanism is needed. We think that the mechanism is necessary”, was the answer of Alen Simonyan.
