In his speech at the extraordinary 3rd congress of the “Rally for the Republic Party” the vice-president of the party, political scientist Ruben Mehrabyan referred to the Russian-Ukrainian war, saying that the Russian Federation could not solve any of the problems before it but received sanctions, moral and political bankruptcy, and zeroing of political capital. “To the extent that that country’s foreign minister is publicly mocked at global forums. Yesterday they were afraid of them, and today, they laugh loudly in their faces.”
According to Ruben Mehrabyan, Russia, which continues to be Armenia’s military-political ally, leading economic partner, and export market, today faces the ruins of its influence in the region. “That depressing panorama is the only thing left that unites us. It is an ontological challenge for the Armenian people, the overcoming of which will be the number one issue of the Armenian agenda in the coming period. We are not going to leave history because of Russia and with Russia. We have sent more than a dozen empires to the dustbin of history in our history and continued our historical course in the face of calamities.”
He spoke about sanctions against Russia, the secondary bearer of which is Armenia, and the Russian market can no longer be a primary market for us. According to Mehrabyan, we are discussing a peace agreement, but all that will remain a mere declarative statement if we do not have adequate positioning in all political directions. “The negotiation process, in which RA has entered, in connection with establishing lasting, comprehensive peace with its neighbors, which should be kept away from Russian influence.
Our opponents say that the Russians are in charge of the situation on the ground. Let’s change the situation on the ground so that it does not threaten us. For that, at least such a problem should be set. Before the collapse of that evil empire, it was establishing “order” in Artsakh with its troops; in fact, it was committing a terrorist attack. We got to the point where that evil empire collapsed. It is also intolerable to leave Artsakh hostage in the hands of those who inspired Khnatsakhs, and Parukhs, and then complained about the lack of a mandate. Whether they are called peacekeepers, their attempts to turn Artsakh into a destabilizing lever for Armenia are no longer intolerable.”
