Last week, during the meeting of the Prime Minister of Armenia with the Armenian community in Germany, the issue of Artsakh was naturally also discussed. The Armenians in Germany and the Armenians from RA in that country “fully welcomed the wise policy of the government.” There was also criticism. And it is interesting how the Prime Minister replied to that criticism.
Pashinyan expressed the idea that manipulating the Karabakh issue is a lever to keep us, that is, the Republic of Armenia, under control. Of course, there is some truth in that statement. Although no name of any country was given, it is a clear allusion to Russia, which during these decades used and continues to use this factor to put pressure on our country. Of course, it is not the only factor: gas, oil, military base, and others. But first, is it worth issuing another rebuke to Russia at the state level in this challenging situation?
When I watched that video, I thought Russia would respond to it somehow. Unfortunately, I was not mistaken. The Russian peacekeepers allowed Azerbaijani saboteurs to attack our police officers, and after that, they did not make an address statement
Second, if someone uses the situation to advance their interests, it does not mean the problem should be solved at any cost. At the moment, I think most Armenians favor a surgical solution to the problem, as they say, “to get rid of both the head and the headache.” What they say, as well as the authorities of Armenia, is roughly as follows. “Let the Armenians of Artsakh solve their problem with Azerbaijan; if it turns out well, it’s normal. If it turns out badly, it’s none of our business.” Of course, people who have not lost touch with reality understand that “it will not turn out well.”

And the most important thing is that this position is dangerous from the point of view of the interests of the Republic of Armenia. If your state does not stand up for compatriots in trouble, then it is a clear signal to treat your territory and your citizens in precisely the same way. An ordinary citizen can bury his head in the sand and live with his current worries. But the leaders of the country should be more discerning than ordinary philistine.
