The meeting of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia with the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan, who is in Cairo on a working visit, met with Ahmed Aboul Gheit, the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States.
The interlocutors stressed that the relations between the Armenian and Arab nations are based on centuries-old friendship and mutual respect. In this context, the role of the Armenian communities in the Arab countries was also mentioned.
The Ministers noted with satisfaction that the Armenian presence in the countries of the Arab world is one of the best examples of the coexistence of the Christian and Muslim nations. In this regard, Minister Mirzoyan underlined that the groundless attempts of the Azerbaijani side to artificially manipulate the religious factor in various platforms and to hamper the traditional foundations of the cooperation between Armenia and the countries of the Arab world should be rejected.

During the meeting, issues of regional and international security and stability were touched upon.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia briefed his interlocutor about Azerbaijan’s aggressions against Nagorno-Karabakh and Armenia, as well as about the details of the humanitarian crisis in Nagorno-Karabakh resulting from the blockade of the Lachin corridor since December 2022.
