Journalists asked the Third President, Serzh Sargsyan, in the process of the accelerated signing of the peace treaty, the right to self-determination was set aside, and they also switched to online communication. Does this mean we will have a peace treaty by integrating Artsakh with Azerbaijan?
Serzh Sargsyan answered: “I don’t know what they are negotiating about peace; I can’t say anything 100% because, as is known, the rulers of Armenia change their opinion during the day, and even the documents obtained from other places are always considered false or that such a thing never happened. We have never tried to spread any false information to our public because we are not happy that they are so condescending and demeaning to us. On the contrary, we feel equally humiliated for such a toothless negotiation process. It doesn’t matter; they won’t be able to implement at least the ideas they are trying to implement now.”
To the question: the current authorities say that they want the issue of Artsakh from the Armenian-Azerbaijani negotiations, how do you imagine that separation? Serzh Sargsyan answered. “I can’t imagine it. Every day you witness the sad situation in Artsakh and Armenia, around the borders of Armenia. No matter how much they try to present it to us as negotiation skills and negotiation policy, it does not correspond to reality. In their opinion, they are simply trying to save Armenia by sacrificing Artsakh.”
