“Due to long and comprehensive discussions, we agreed on three points. The first is the issue of the Armenian Genocide. All the participants emphasized that the Armenian Genocide is the first issue, as a historical responsibility,” Archbishop Khazhak Parsamyan, Pontifical Legate of Western Europe and Representative of the Armenian Church to the Holy See, Head of the “Historical Responsibility” expert committee, Father, Archbishop Khazhak Parsamian said at the meeting with journalists.
He added: “However, the approaches are to look at the issue of the Armenian Genocide in a new way and propose solutions to get rid of the victim’s psychological condition. That status is the most difficult, not allowing a person to use all his abilities. We have also emphasized that the issue of recognizing the Armenian Genocide is not only a historical issue and is the main part of the survival of our statehood.”
