“Today, Russia talks most about the right to self-determination, and there is not a single living being in the Civil Contract that talks about it.” Opposition Deputy

“Months ago, there was an option of Russian mediation, and according to the Russian President, the status of Artsakh was left with the status quo to be decided later. Official Yerevan publicly agreed and made proposals to Azerbaijan in Washington, which is ridiculous and dangerous, and said it is ready to sign the other mediation program as well, which does not include any mention of Artsakh at all. Do you expect Russia to be more pro-Armenian and pro-Artsakh than us?”

Hayk Mamijanyan, head of the “I have an honor” faction of the National Assembly, said in a briefing with journalists in the parliament. Let’s remind you that on March 20, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that in the case of Karabakh, the package of rights that were once secured for the residents of Kosovo should be ensured. Mamijanyan mentioned: “Let’s prove that Russia talks about the right to self-determination the most in the world today. It is unclear why Armenia cannot use it because the basis of the process is the right to self-determination.

At least with the hope of realizing self-determination in the future, the Armenian government kept itself unclear and brought Alma Ata’s declaration, which has nothing to do with the Artsakh conflict, on the agenda. Even Azerbaijan did not do such a thing. The authorities in Prague signed it. The most terrible: No one from the CC would talk about the right to self-determination.” Journalists reminded that Lavrov also seems to support Pashinyan’s approach that Baku and Stepanakert must have a dialogue.

Hayk Mamijanyan emphasized that the Baku-Stepanakert negotiations are evil because Artsakh does not negotiate with Azerbaijan as equals. “Pashinyan said that they had agreed on technical-humanitarian issues, while Azerbaijan called it “reintegration.” He is telling a lie because, since November 9, all the officials of Azerbaijan have repeatedly said that they will negotiate with Stepanakert exclusively in the logic of “reintegration.” Therefore, the government knew this and consciously led to “reintegration.” And Alen Simonyan did not rule it out.”
