Today, we got acquainted with the facts that have not been known for us. The people of Lithuania have passed through hardships, but our history is not so tragic. We should live in peace, always remember the past, make conclusions from it and not let what happened with the Armenian people be repeated: the Head of the delegation of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania Rimantė Šalaševičiūtė said. The delegation led by her visited Tsitsernakaberd Memorial Complex accompanied by the Chair of the NA Standing Committee on Labor and Social Affairs Heriknaz Tigranyan, deputies Lilit Stepanyan and Gayane Yeghiazaryan on April 5.
The delegation members laid flowers at the Eternal Fire perpetuating the memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide, silently honouring the memory of the Holy Martyrs.
The parliamentarians of Lithuania also visited the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute, got acquainted with the documents certifying the massacre, observed the exhibits and left a note in the Memory Book of Honorable Guests.

The member of the delegation, the Chair of the Committee on Human Rights of the Republic of Lithuania Tomas Vytautas Raskevičius, getting acquainted with the documents, said: “I think that humankind should be very mindful to the atrocities in the past, especially the Armenian Genocide. I want to make sure that such atrocities won’t happen again.”
