The US-based fact-finding organization “Truth and Justice Center” has documented 2023 with satellite images the destruction of the Aghavno village of Nagorno-Karabakh by Azerbaijan between January 13 and February 4. In a conversation with Aravot. am the Chairman of the “People’s Consolidation” party, Suren Petrosyan said.
“I have always said that if Aghavno surrenders, the Azerbaijanis will come under Tegh village immediately start the advance. Their vision was that Aghavno should be a military base where they should be fortified. It is a significant key position for them. Naturally, it is legal that if they demolish, they do not build a city there. I think you don’t need to be an analyst to understand this; this is a rational policy that every state that has a national security strategy and a state development plan should consider. And these advances will be continuous; they will be repeated regularly, and the atmosphere of fear will continue. Azerbaijanis are already entering the villages of Sisian.”

What is the solution to get rid of all this? Suren Petrosyan said in response. “I will answer that question later, we have done quite a lot of work on it, about the size of three doctoral theses, and it is not theoretical. We will present all the answers to what can be done in 10-15 days. There is no alternative in theory, and it is possible to implement in practice. And we are talking about a short time, about a profound change within a year or a year and a half. Our study has both a historical and scientific basis. No one can say that if there has been any change in history, it has happened without considering and implementing these factors. Most importantly, we must escape the desperate situation; all solutions are subjective.”

Suren Petrosyan emphasizes that we are constantly being forced to say that we have no other choice, which, according to him, is the biggest nonsense. “The saddest thing is that we were given these agendas even after the liberation of Artsakh, and we cannot be stronger in any case. That is not our agenda at all.
