The RA Deputy Minister of Defense Arman Sahakyan introduced the proposed addenda and amendments to the laws on the RA Disciplinary Code of the Armed Forces, on Military Service and the Status of Servicemen and to the Code on Administrative Offenses at the NA sitting on April 12.
The legislative amendments define the types of encouragements and disciplinary penalties applied to conscripts of training gatherings and conscription military service. The types of disciplinary offenses are supplemented by two more articles: non-observance of legal restrictions by a military serviceman and violation of the rules of the secrecy regime.
The restrictions set by the law on military servicemen are also supplemented by the ban on using a smartphone at the place of service, except for the cases defined by the order of the state authorized body.
According to the proposed regulations, the period of stay in the disciplinary battalion while serving the penalty will not be counted in the period of mandatory military service.
