At April 12 regular sitting, the National Assembly debated the issue on Election of the Corruption Prevention Commission Member.
Aramayis Pashinyan’s candidacy was nominated in the vacant position of the Corruption Prevention Commission Member on the basis of the Competition Council decision.
The deputy of the NA Civil Contract Faction, the member of the Competition Council Arusyak Julhakyan presented the candidate’s biographical data.
In his speech Aramayis Pashinyan touched upon in detail the processes of the fight against corruption of the last years, emphasized the necessity of improving the toolkit of the fight against it, which, according to him, is the most important precondition of the economic system development.

Aramayis Pashinyan underlined the role and significance of education in the fight against corruption. “Beginning from preschools we should introduce and the teach the children the means of the fight against corruption. The citizen should show zero tolerance towards corruption,” Aramayis Pashinyan.
Regarding his activities in the Corruption Prevention Commission, the candidate highlighted the introduction of the declaration system, its improvement with legislative reforms. He stressed the importance of the introduction of the electronic system declaration.
According to him, during his activities the concept of the fight against corruption was approved, more than two dozen documents were revised and the international experience of the fight against corruption was studied.
Concluding his speech, Aramayis Pashinyan documented that he will serve his work experience and knowledge of these years to the fight against corruption and corruption phenomena.
In response to the question of the deputy of the Civil Contract Faction Sergey Bagratyan, how will you fight against corruption phenomena formed because of idleness, Aramayis Pashinyan noted that as a result of introduction of right procedures of fight against corruption, the corruption phenomena arising because of idleness and action will be excluded.
The deputy of the same faction Gurgen Arsenyan asked the candidate how he assesses the attitude of our society to the so-called concept of fair earnings.
Aramayis Pashinyan mentioned that the tolerance towards the corruption phenomena has deep roots and reaches up to Soviet times. It is difficult to eradicate them, and because of that the anti-corruption education, the seeding of zero tolerance towards corruption is important.
Answering to the question of the deputy of the Armenia Faction Armenuhi Kyureghyan on the elimination of the system corruption, Aramayis Pashinyan noted that the system corruption in our country is eradicated. However, other kinds of corruption still exist.
“The fight against corruption should be continuous and unceasing,” Aramayis Pashinyan said.
During the exchange of ideas, the deputy of the NA Civil Contract Faction referred to the corruption risks in the parties. “We should study the financing sources of the parties,” he said and added that we should fight against corruption risks of the parties for having political healthy system. The party shall be free from the inner and external pressures.
