“The objective reality is that we postponed our last planned meeting. It was supposed to take place at the end of the year in Moscow because of the illegal blocking of the Lachin Corridor. I repeat that the word “postpone” is key here. We are now ready to resume the meetings and these discussions,” RA Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said during the Government-NA question-and-answer session, referring to the accusations of Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov that “international mediators are trying to bring Armenia back to the negotiating table.”
In response to this statement, Ararat Mirzoyan emphasized that the negotiation process was always ongoing, even when the meeting was postponed.
“After that delay, we have several times submitted editorial proposals on the draft peace agreement. Now, various mediators and partners have made proposals to organize a meeting again. Meetings will take place in the near future.” Bayramov, like Ilham Aliyev, also recently said that Armenia “obstructs the process of reintegration of the Armenian population of Karabakh.”
On this occasion, Ararat Mirzoyan said: “The position of the Armenian side is that the rights and security of the Nagorno-Karabakh people should be addressed within the framework of the international mechanism of the Baku-Stepanakert dialogue. This set of problems is part of the Armenia-Azerbaijan settlement process. We do not consider the final settlement without addressing the rights of the people of Nagorno-Karabakh to be realistic.”
