On April 14 Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan had a tête-à-tête meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov. The meeting took place within the framework of the Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the CIS states in Samarkand.
The interlocutors discussed issues on regional security and stability.
The Foreign Ministers exchanged views on the normalisation of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations, border security and delimitation, unblocking of all economic and transport links in the region, and the Nagorno-Karabakh issue.
Ararat Mirzoyan presented the details of the provocation carried out by the Azerbaijani armed forces on April 11 in the area of Tegh village of Syunik Region, in the territory of the Republic of Armenia, noting that it was another manifestation of the overall aggressive policy of Azerbaijan.

The situation in Nagorno-Karabakh resulting from the four-month-long blockade of the Lachin corridor by Azerbaijan was touched upon. The need to remove the blockade of the Lachin corridor was emphasised in accordance with the commitments enshrined in November 9, 2020, Trilateral statement.
During the meeting the Foreign Ministers also touched upon the issues of the bilateral agenda.
