At the PACE spring session started in Strasbourg, on April 24, a member of the Armenian delegation, Vladimir Vardanyan, proposed to the Assembly to observe a minute of silence in memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide. He reminded that the European Parliament adopted a resolution describing that crime as Genocide.
PACE President Tiny Cox thanked him for the reminder and said it would be fair to observe a moment of silence, but she did not use the word genocide. The PACE delegates honored the memory of the Armenian Genocide victims with a minute of silence.
