“There is no need for a new Nemesis in the sense that we should not go on the path of revenge, but to defeat our enemies,” answered Avetik Chalabyan, a member of the board of the «Consolidation” movement, to the question: “Is there a need for a new Nemesis?”
The other day, the “Unification” movement visited the Nemesis heroes’ monument to commemorate the Armenian knights of dignity and appreciate their feat anew. Speaking about Nemesis, Avetik Chalabyan continued: “Nemesis was the situation where, unfortunately, we missed the moment. Do you remember that Talaat was killed in 1922 when the Republic of Armenia was abolished? Today we have the State and Army; our path should be victory, not revenge.”
Avetik Chalabyan, referring to the Nemesis Operation, said: “Operation Nemesis was planned in 1919 by the 9th General Assembly of the ARF and was carried out until 1922. During that time, the Young Turk and Musafat massacrers, who were directly responsible for the annihilation of the Armenian people, were sentenced to death and executed by the Armenian Avengers. This was an important applied action; it sent a message to our enemies that although the Armenian nation has been defeated, its dignity has not been lost, and its fighting spirit has not been lost. It is ready to stand up and strike back at the enemies.”

“Drawing parallels with today’s reality, Avetik Chalabyan said: “Unfortunately, in 2020, we lost again, but we must treat it as a lesson to be learned, mastered, and move forward to new victories. In the history of humanity, as well as in the history of our nation, victories, and wars follow each other. We will have to make peace with our neighbors in the end. But it will not happen by enslaving, destroying, and displacing us. Turks and Azerbaijanis must accept our natural, human, and national rights and dignity. We must realize their hostile aspirations and understand that we are not alone. If we protect our dignity, increase the fighting capacity of the army, the economy, and the state, we will eventually reach the point where our capabilities will increase, and the enemies will have to reckon with us, as they have since 1994.”
Journalists reported that Nikol Pashinyan is also going to sign the peace treaty, Avetik Chalabyan said. “There is a significant difference. No one takes the RA authorities seriously or respects them because there can be reconciliation only at the expense of the balance of forces. They will continue to destroy and trample on the weak. This is exactly what is happening with this government. These authorities are leading the country in a hopeless direction. We must militarize our country, build a strong, impregnable fortress.”
Referring to Nikol Pashinyan’s statements, he said: “He says that Berdzor belongs to the Russians. You handed over Berdzor to Russian control. You did not think that one day Russia could agree with Azerbaijan. It was impregnable when Berdzor was under our control because whoever had once passed through Berdzor or Karvachar knew it was almost impossible to capture it by military means. Why did you surrender, and now you want to do something so we forget you surrendered? Well, now tell me, what solution do you imagine?’
