“Artsakh 2035 – free, safe, happy,” Ruben Vardanyan, the initiator of the “Future Armenian” Movement, Co-Founder of the “Aurora” humanitarian initiative, and Former Minister of the State of Artsakh, titled his speech, which he presented during an online meeting titled “The problem of Artsakh is the problem of 10 million Armenians” joining from Artsakh. He pointed to the statement by which, “We demand to stop Azerbaijan’s ethnic cleansing and genocidal policy in Artsakh.”

Ruben Vardanyan stated in his speech that we must protect the Motherland and ourselves to live and create on our native land.

According to him, our option to face the challenges is to become a highly technologically developed country. He said there are various discussions during which our weak points and red lines that should not be crossed are highlighted. “One of our problems is that the Movement started as a union, after which an element of independent statehood was added.

Uncertainty led to dichotomy, including from the point of view of public administration. After the victory, there was a deprivation of will. We did not analyze the past. Myths arose that there would be no war, the Minsk Group and other countries would not allow it, and the UN and the OSCE made decisions, but it was a myth. The second myth was that Azerbaijan did not know how to fight a war. Now it is another myth that Azerbaijan is powerful, many of them.

Another problem is the reputation of those people who enjoy respect. We should be grateful to Azerbaijan, which drew our attention to fundamental things. This crisis is not only a threat but also an opportunity.

Ruben Vardanyan assured: “Only by realizing together that the problem of Artsakh is the problem of all Armenians will we achieve a result. Despite all the challenges and defeats, we have the strength of will, the perseverance, and talent of the people of Artsakh.”

Ruben Vardanyan also emphasizes that we should show the decision of the people. “Our second demand is to raise our issues more strongly and legally. The third demand is from the Russian peacekeepers to exert pressure. We should hold peaceful demonstrations for the opening of the road. Our future is in our hands.”
