Atom Janjughazyan: Audit Chamber carried out 54 audits in 2022

In 2022, the Audit Chamber remained faithful to its mission and acted with the aim of promoting to improve the management of public assets: the Chairman of the Audit Chamber Atom Janjughazyan said at the regular sitting of the NA Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs on May 15, presenting the annual report on the activity of the RA Audit Chamber in 2022.

It was noted that the Audit Chamber, in order to draw up the annual conclusion on the implementation of the 2022 state budget, conducted 40 audits of 10 budget programmes implemented by the order clerk of budget allocations.

In 2022, the Audit Chamber audited the implementation of the 2021 state budget through the implementation of financial and compliance audits of three, six, nine months and annual implementation. An audit opinion has been issued.

According to Atom Janjughazyan, the Audit Chamber conducted 54 audits in 2022, out of which 40 were within the framework of the first part of the 2022 activity programme of the Audit Chamber, 11 were part of the second part of the programme, and three were part of the third part of the prgramme.

Based on the results of 11 audits, the current conclusions were introduced to the National Assembly, the Government and the audit subjects.

According to the confirmation of the Chairman of the Audit Chamber, the Chamber continued cooperation with the National Assembly in 2022.

Atom Janjughazyan mentioned that criminal proceedings were initiated in 6 separate directions within the framework of the materials sent to the RA General Prosecutor’s Office and the results of the Audit Chamber’s audits in the financial year and a preliminary investigation is being conducted.

According to the results of previous years’ audits, the amount of damage caused to the state by criminal proceedings in the financial year is 834.941 thousand AMD, a preliminary investigation is being conducted.

The Chairman of the Audit Chamber, responding to the question of the Chair of the NA Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs Gevorg Papoyan regarding the so-called fate of the inconsistencies, distortions found as a result of audits, noted that legislative amendments are planned in the near future regarding the implementation of post-control by the Audit Chamber.

Expressing his gratitude, Gevorg Papoyan highly valued the large-scale work done by the Audit Chamber. He highlighted the continuous cooperation of the Audit Chamber with the National Assembly.
