On 16 May, the opening of the new edition of the European Film Festival was organized with the screening of the latest winner of the Palme d’Or, Triangle of Sadness, a Swedish film.

The European Film Festival will be held from May 16 to May 23 in Yerevan Cinema House (18 Vardanants Str.).

Entrance will be free of charge and open to the public. Thirteen (13) award-winning films from resident EU Member States represented in Armenia will be screened with English and Armenian subtitles.

On this occasion, EU Ambassador to Armenia, Andrea Wiktorin, said: “United in diversity” is the motto of the European Union, and tonight we, Europeans, are so happy to show you examples of our diverse and plural cultures. Cinema has always been a powerful medium that has the ability to transport us to different worlds and evoke a wide range of emotions.

The magic of cinema lies in its ability to captivate audiences and tell stories that resonate with people from all lifestyles.

The Festival screens films that have received critical acclaim and have been successful at international film festivals, giving Armenian audiences access to award-winning European cinema. As the curtains rise and the lights dim, we invite you to embark on a voyage through the diverse landscapes of European cinema.
