Vova Arzumanyan, a student of the Faculty of Art History, Theory and Management of our university, has been awarded a first-class diploma in the “Art Studies” category of the education-research international competition “Student of the Year – 2023” of the international association of publishers of academic lterature “Novaya Nauka” (New Science), for the article on the “Approaches to Prose Staging on the Example of Hamazkayin Theater”.
The academic supervisor of the article is Professor Narine Sargsyan, the vice-rector for Academic Affairs at Yerevan state institute of Theatre and Cinematography, PhD in Art.
The purpose of the academic article is to consider the approaches to the staging of prose works, using the example of two performances of the Hamazkayin State Theater named after Sos Sargsyan.
In the article, the author has drawn parallels between the structural features of prose and dramatic works, making joint analyzes in the field of literary studies and theater studies.
Also, the author has referred to the brief history of the stage embodiment of prose in the Armenian theater, the structure of play and action as a component of staged prose. The mentioned issues have been presented with the examples of the plays “The Paplik” and “…and again Spring” staged by director N. Grigoryan.
