Meeting of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia with the Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs in the German Bundestag
On June 7, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan met with Michael Roth, the Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs in the German Bundestag.
The interlocutors commended the positive dynamics of cooperation between Armenia and Germany, including in parliamentary format, and expressed readiness to continue active efforts to further deepen cooperation on various platforms. Views were also exchanged on the issues of the agenda of Armenia-EU expanding partnership.
During the meeting, the security situation in the region and current problems resulting from Azerbaijan’s aggressive policy against the people of Nagorno-Karabakh and the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia were discussed. Emphasizing the commitment of the Armenian side to resolving them, Minister Mirzoyan stressed the imperative of Azerbaijan to reciprocate this approach and fulfill its own commitments.

The interlocutors discussed the normalization process between Armenia and Azerbaijan and in this context, they also touched upon the efforts of the international partners interested in the normalization. Minister Mirzoyan presented the position of the Armenian side on key issues in this process. Among other issues, in the context of the lasting settlement, both sides highlighted the importance of addressing the rights and security issues of the people of Nagorno-Karabakh.
