Tiran Hakobyan, Director of GTB Holding, told journalists about this on June 15, during a visit to Yeraskh; the owners are not going to stop the construction of the Metallurgical Plant being built with American investments in Yeraskh near the border.
According to his confirmation, they are currently discussing technical clarifications with the relevant bodies. Ambassadors accredited to the Republic of Armenia were also present at the pledge, particularly in the factory under construction targeted by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces. What is the reaction expected from the ambassadors?
Tiran Hakobyan said that they expected to convey the truth and added that the response of the spokesperson of the US State Department to what happened is a landmark for them. To remind you, in the last three days, the units of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces opened fire in the direction of Yeraskh. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the factory under construction in that area was targeted. As a result of the shooting, two Indian citizens were injured.

Tiran Hakobyan explained why the factory was being built in that area. There were various proposals to build it in other parts of Armenia, but that border area was chosen to develop the country’s border zone. After the construction of the factory, it is planned to produce 200-250 thousand tons of rebar per year, which, according to the director of the company, will be a severe stimulus for the development of the RA.
At the moment, the total number of construction workers is about 200 people, of which about 70 are Indian citizens because there is a large volume of work that is technological. The Indian partners have the appropriate knowledge for these works. Despite what happened yesterday, Tiran Hakobyan assures that they are ready to stay and continue the work.
The condition of two Indian citizens injured by Azerbaijani shots on June 14 in the factory territory is stable. The representatives of the Indian embassy visited them; the company is also in contact with the embassy to organize the necessary issues.
By the way, Tiran Hakobyan clarified that although the state gives the company the privilege of being exempt from VAT to carry out business activities in the border zones, they decided to give up the right and pay VAT.
