On June 15, the heads of accredited diplomatic missions in the Republic of Armenia are in Yeraskh, at the metallurgical plant under construction, where Azerbaijani gunfire was heard two days before. (Representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Armenia paid a visit to the factory under construction in Yeraskh, Armenia, to learn about the situation and the consequences of shelling by Azerbaijan).
The purpose of the visit was to inform foreign diplomatic missions about the incident. The factory is approximately 400 meters away from the Azerbaijani positions. As the Ministry of Defense announced, the shots were fired from small and medium-caliber weapons.

The factory is still under construction; the construction works started about two months ago, and more than 70 million dollars are planned to be invested before the construction works are completed and put into operation. It is assumed that this factory will play a unique role in the further economic development of Armenia.
The ambassadors were welcomed in the factory territory by the Factory Director Tiran Hakobyan, the Commander of the 5th Corps, Colonel Sasun Badasyan, the Governor of the Ararat region, Sedrak Tevonyan. The construction works on the factory’s territory are now stopped; it has yet to be clear when they will be resumed.
The factory director assured us that they are adjusting some technical issues and plan to continue the construction works as soon as possible; there is no question of stopping the factory structure. Colonel Sasun Badasyan assured that the units of the Armed Forces of Armenia are in their places and continue their service, protecting the borders of Armenia.
Governor Sedrak Tevonyan, responding to the concerns about environmental problems voiced by the Azerbaijani side, said there is no such problem in reality.
“This is a tendency for our border settlements not to develop.” Although the site of the factory has been targeted for the first time, both officials and locals claim that the purpose of the targeting is to stop the construction work of the factory. The ambassadors walked around the factory’s territory and talked with employees and management representatives but wanted to keep their impressions and thoughts private from journalists.
