“We have put you in such a place that it is possible to ensure security; 10 meters away, you will be visible from the enemy’s positions,” Sasun Badasyan, Commander of the 5th Army Corps, told the representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in the Republic of Armenia today in the area of the Metallurgical Plant under construction in Yeraskh.
On June 15, ambassadors accredited to Armenia were in Yeraskh, in particular, in the territory of the factory under construction targeted by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces. The 5th Army Corps Commander, Sasun Badasyan, presented the situation to the diplomats. One of the diplomats asked a clarifying question about whether this place was the safest in the factory area.
“Conditionally, yes,” said the corps commander, adding that the enemy’s positions are only 400 meters away from that place. And the conversation was taking place at the very place where two Indian citizens were injured on June 14. “They are not included in the military service; they were doing civil work. The same can happen to any citizen of any country anywhere in the republic.”
