“Unfortunately, there is still no agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan on the fundamental issues that have been discussed, and the views of both sides are far from each other,” Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan stated in a briefing with journalists in the parliament.
According to him, in particular, there is no agreement on the issue of maps, based on which year’s map the further delimitation process should take place, on the issues of security of the population of Nagorno-Karabakh, on the issues of creating international mechanisms of Baku-Stepanakert dialogue. “But the work continues,” he said.
Referring to the statements of the presidents of Turkey and Azerbaijan about the so-called “Zangezur Corridor,” Kostanyan replied: “On the agenda for us is the question of unblocking regional infrastructures and transport routes, within the limits of the sovereignty and jurisdiction of the Republic of Armenia.
The details that they sometimes request are of some concern to us, and work is ongoing. We have presented our position; Iran’s position is also known in this respect.
